Balsam Bee:

The Balsam Bee is a fun family event where people gather in the basement of the church to make decorative balsam pillows.  These pillows are the top-selling item at the annual Chapel Bazaar.  There's work for balsam grinders (using our antique hand equipment that turns boughs into piles of clean needles), pillow "stuffers", and sewers of all sewing abilities.  The event runs from 5:00 to about 8:00 p.m.,(Please check Chapel calendar for 2021 date)

but we also need grinders to get the ball rolling at 4:30 p.m.  Folks are welcome to drop in to work for a while and leave as their individual schedules allow.  Refreshments are served.

We also need folks to help out gathering raw materials (fresh balsam boughs) the Sunday before the Bee.  A crew gathers in the Chapel parking lot and moves as a group to the places where trimming will take place.  Hand tools and gloves will be available.  This is a good activity for adults and teen-agers.  More details will be available during July on the Events and Announcements page.

The Bazaar:

The 2021 Bazaar will be held on Saturday, August 7th!

The Bazaar is the Chapel's main annual fund-raising event. A true community celebration, the Bazaar is attended by hundreds of people from around the Fulton Chain area, both residents and visitors.  Come for wonderful crafts made by members of the community, a quilt raffle, a silent auction, great food, music, tours of the chapel, and games for the children.

An important event leading up to the Bazaar is the traditional Balsam Bee, open to adults and children who want to share an evening's sociability combined with an old-time craft.  This year's Balsam Bee will take place in the basement of the Chapel.  For more details, see this page.
