Our next Balsam Bee will be held on July 27, 2024

The Balsam Bee is a fun family event where people gather in the basement of the church to make decorative balsam pillows.  These pillows are the top-selling item at the annual Chapel Bazaar.  There's work for balsam grinders (using our antique hand equipment that turns boughs into piles of clean needles), pillow "stuffers", and sewers of all sewing abilities.  The event runs from 5:00 to about 8:00 p.m.

but we also need grinders to get the ball rolling at 4:30 p.m.  Folks are welcome to drop in to work for a while and leave as their individual schedules allow.  Refreshments are served.

We also need folks to help out gathering raw materials (fresh balsam boughs) the week before the Bee.  A crew gathers in the Chapel parking lot and moves as a group to the places where trimming will take place.  Hand tools and gloves will be available.  This is a good activity for adults and teen-agers.  More details to come!
